Police: Woman Hides Crack In Cookie Bag
Two rocks of crack cocaine hidden among cookies made with chocolate chips.
That’s what police officers said they found during a traffic stop shortly before midnight Monday in the 4800 block of Guadalupe Drive in Northeast El Paso.
The car was pulled over after police noticed an expired Texas registration sticker, and when they approached it, smelled a strong odor of burning marijuana.
In the back seat was 22-year-old Krystina McDermott, who police said tried to hide two rocks of crack cocaine in a bag of chocolate chip cookies.
McDermott, of the 10500 block of Murphy Street, was arrested on suspicion of possession of less than one gram of a controlled substance. She was booked into the El Paso County Jail, with bond set at $4,500.
According to KVIA archives, McDermott, who is from Saugas, Mass., was arrested during a July prostitution sting operation.
Police said that on July 29, McDermott agreed to be hired for sex by undercover officers and tried to flee before being arrested on suspicion of prostitution and evading arrest or detention. Her bond was set at $600.
