UPDATE: Woman Dead After Car Collides With A Fire Truck Identified

The El Paso Fire Department confirmed 80-year-old Dolores Gonzalez died after her car collided with an EPFD truck responding to an emergency call.

Investigators said the firetruck was traveling south on Trowbridge with lights and sirens activated, when Gonzalez, driving a Honda Civic, ran a red light, then struck the firetruck.

Fire officials said Gonzalez was not wearing a seat belt when she was ejected from her car.

Police said Gonzalez died on the scene.

This is the second deadly wreck at the intersection of Paisano and Trowbridge in two weeks.

Because of the deadly crash that happened at the same intersection last week, ABC7 asked if police believe this intersection is unusually dangerous, they said no.
