Businessman Donates $100K To El Paso Fire Dept. After Blaze Destroys Historic Building

Gerald Rubin of River Oaks Properties has donated $100,000 to the El Paso Fire Department equipment fund.

Last Tuesday, Rubin met with City officials to express his sadness at the loss of the historic building at 100 E. San Antonio that has been owned by his family for nearly half a century. He also expressed his gratitude “to the brave men and women of the City’s fire department who put their own safety at risk in their efforts to contain the fire and attempt to save the building.”

River Oaks Properties also has hired and is paying for the contractor that is handling the cleanup of the site at 100 E. San Antonio.
