UTEP’s Herrera Named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week

UTEP’s volleyball Xitlali Herrera earned Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

The middle blocker garnered the honor after leading the Miners attack against C-USA Preseason favorite Rice. The senior guided UTEP to a 3-0 victory on Sunday hammering a match-high 12 kills with only one error and .611 hitting percentage against the Owls. Herrera added fuel to the Miners’ defense with eight digs and two block assists,

This is her third C-USA Player of the Week award and Herrera’s second offensive honor in the Orange and Blue.

UTEP will face Grand Canyon on Wednesday at 7 p.m. (MT) at Memorial Gym.
