Motorcycle wreck sends two to hospital

A woman found herself fighting for her life at Del Sol Medical Center, after a Tuesday morning motorcycle wreck.

Just before 1 a.m., a man and a woman were thrown off a motorcycle after the man lost control. The crash happened right in front of the Rudolph Mazda car lot on Lee Trevino. The man escaped the crash with minor scrapes on his face, while the woman who was briefly treated at the scene was rushed to the hospital. The latest information obtained by ABC-7 is that she is in critical condition. Witnesses say she was in obvious pains, as her screams were heard from across the street. While there is no word yet on what specific injuries the woman has, police suspect alcohol may have played a role.

Police on the scene tell us the man was also taken to a hospital, and they expect to take him into custody upon his release. Police say that both victims were not wearing helmets. At about 3 a.m., Special Traffic Investigators were called out to the scene because the woman’s injuries are life threatening. Police have closed the southbound lanes of Lee Trevino and expects them to be closed until 8 a.m. or until police have completed their investigation.
