El Paso Police ID man killed in Monday morning rollover

El Paso Police have released the identity of the man killed in a rollover on Spur 601 early Monday morning.

Jesus Medina III, 21, of El Paso, was a passenger in a 1984 Nissan 300 ZX traveling east on Spur 601 that was attempting to exit at Global Reach/Old Ironsides.

The vehicle lost control, causing it to overturn. Medina was partially ejected from the vehicle and the other occupant was completely ejected.

Both were transported to University Medical Center where Medina died.

Police say they believe that speed, alcohol and failure to wear seatbelts were contributing factors in the rollover.

This is the 51 st traffic related death this year as compared to 56 at this time in 2012
