Man on loose after SWAT standoff

El Paso Police say a man wanted on felony charges is on the loose after a five hour SWAT situation in south-central El Paso.

It started just before 10 p.m. Tuesday at the 100 block of Awbrey, just off of Alameda near Fox Plaza.

Police said they approached the man, who allegedly threatened them and went back into his home.

After nearly four hours, the SWAT team finally made entry into the home only to find the suspect was gone.

Police said they found a loaded shotgun in the house.

A police spokesman said they know who the man is and will release his name and possibly a photo to get help in locating him.
