Teen allegedly steals teddy bear, knocks over 6-year-old in attempted getaway
A 17-year-old Houston teen was arrested Monday night after he allegedly stole a teddy bear and then pushed a 6-year-old child in an attempt to get away.
El Paso Police said Martin Morales walked into the Mr. C Toys at the Outlet Shoppes at El Paso and placed a teddy bear into one of his pockets and walked out of the store.
The store manager then confronted Morales outside of the store and after Morales was back inside the store, Morales allegedly ran and pushed a 6-year-old child as he tried to run away. The child struck his head on a display and received minor injuries.
The manager was able to catch up to Morales detained him until police arrived.
Morales was charged with Injury to a Child, a second degree felony and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $5,000 bond.
