UTEP Men’s Golf Team Takes 18th at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

The UTEP men’s golf team posted an 18th-place finish at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The Miners shot 878 as a team (292-300-286). Oklahoma won the 21-team event (275-285-271-831 ), with BYU (282-279-277-838 ) and Colorado (271-290-277-838 ) tying for second place.

Martin Simonsen led UTEP, carding a three-over-par 213 (72-72-69 ) to tie for 22nd place. Frederik Dreier tied for 54th place (71-78-70-219 ), Jose Romero tied for 85th place (74-77-75-226 ), Prescott Mann tied for 88th place (75-73-79-227 ) and Ryan Fioretti tied for 92nd place (78-78-72-228 ).

The Miners will return to action at the Western Intercollegiate this weekend in Santa Cruz, Calif.
