Two men killed in unrelated overnight shootings; El Paso homicide number now at 4

El Paso Police arrived Saturday morning to check the welfare of a residence and found a man inside, dead.

Crimes Against Persons responded to what they’re calling a “deadly shooting” that happened at 5:28 a.m., at the 11200 block of War Cloud.

Police have a man in custody. CAP said the preliminary investigation revealed that the victim died of an apparent gun shot at the residence.

In a separate, unrelated incident a man was taken to the hospital and later died Saturday morning after being shot in west El Paso.

The incident happened at the intersection of North Mesa and Robinson.

Here’s what we know so far: The victim is believed to be in his 20’s. Police say the victim was crossing the street on Mesa when he got into a argument with someone in a car. The person in the car then reportedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the upper body.

That victim was taken to University Medical Center — where he died.

Friends and family members are now telling ABC-7 his name is Efren Gonzalez. ABC-7found his Facebook page and these photos.Friends are already filling the page with posts with their condolences and sharing pictures of their time spent with Gonzalez.

He was taken to university medical center, where he died a short time later.

No arrests have been made, if you have any information, you are asked to call police.
