Criminal complaint: Dona Ana sheriff’s deputy going 114 mph when she struck, killed pedestrian
A criminal complaint against a Dona Ana County Sheriff’s deputy states she was driving 114 mph when she hit and killed a pedestrian in Mesquite, New Mexico on April 1, 2014.
New Mexico State Police are recommending sheriff’s deputy Eden Terrazas be charged with vehicular homicide.
Terrazas had been with the department for less than six months.
Investigators say she was speeding when she veered off the road and hit 44-year-old Natividad Nunez.
Nunez died at the scene.
The case has been sent to District Attorney Mark D’Antonio who will send the case to a grand jury.
