Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office seek witnesses in first homicide of 2013

The Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office is seeking witnesses who may have information on a homicide this month in Berino, New Mexico.

Sheriff’s investigators say 41-year-old Juan Perez was unresponsive when they arrived at a residential area off Saltbush Road on the afternoon of May 18, 2013. According to witnesses, Perez had been drinking alcohol with several other people throughout the day before he allegedly got into a fight.

Perez was transported to University Medical Center in El Paso with severe blunt-force trauma to the head He was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning.

This is Doa Ana County’s first homicide of 2013.
