Las Cruces Police say woman used kitchen knife to allegedly theaten boyfriend

Las Cruces Police have charged a 22-year-old woman for allegedly using a knife to threaten her boyfriend on the morning of May 10.

Annette M. Escalera has been charged with one count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery against a household member.

Las Cruces Police say that Escalera and her boyfriend were involved in an argument the morning of May 10 at his apartment, on the 700 block of Griggs Avenue. As the argument escalated, Escalera allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and used it to threaten her boyfriend.

Police say Escalera also allegedly punched and scratched her boyfriend.

Police were called to the apartment shortly before 11 a.m. May 10. Escalera was arrested and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $5,000.
