UPDATE: A portion of Yarbrough remains closed after water main break

07.20.14 Update – Yarbrough at Gateway West is only partially open Sunday morning.

Drivers going north on Yarbrough will be able to go through the underpass but will be forced to turn on to the Gateway and head west.

A sink hole remains following the water main break that happened late Friday night.

07.19.14 Update – A main intersection in east El Paso remained closed Saturday afternoon.

A waterline break caused the street to give way at Yarbrough and Gateway West.

TXDOT originally tweeted around 6 am that it would reopen around 8am. However, they later said it was to remain closed until “further notice.”

Our crew noticed a sink hole in the middle of Yarbrough. It was enough to swallow a traffic light.
