UTEP Women’s Golf Team Captures WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award

The UTEP women’s golf team has been awarded with the WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award for achieving the top overall grade point average in the country.

The Miners’ six team members (Emma Burman, Nathalie Gallacher, Emma Edin, Amber Herrera, Alisa Rodriguez, Camino Sardinero) had a cumulative GPA of 3.840.

Rounding out the nation’s top five programs academically were New Mexico (3.839 GPA), Detroit Mercy (3.838), Florida Gulf Coast (3.822) and Creighton (3.787).

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
