Chihuahuas beat Bees in Salt Lake, 6-5

The El Paso Chihuahuas overcame an early three-run deficit and beat the Salt Lake Bees 6-5 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City. It was El Paso’s third straight win, the first time the Chihuahuas finished off a third consecutive victory since July 10 th . Tyler Greene went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the win for El Paso.

Ryan Wheeler’s three-run home run in the bottom of the first gave put Salt Lake ahead 3-0. The Chihuahuas chipped away at the Bees advantage, scoring twice on Rico Noel’s second-inning double and again on Greene’s game-tying solo homer in the third. El Paso pushed ahead to stay in the fifth when the Chihuahuas scored three times on consecutive RBI doubles by Greene, Jake Goebbert and Rymer Liriano.

Liriano went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI and now has 26 hits in 14 Triple-A games. Chris Rearick pitched 1.1 scoreless innings Friday and has allowed only one earned run in his last 12 outings.
