City’s deputy city manager chosen for top job in Santa Rosa, Calif.

The City of El Paso has another top management vacancy to fill.

El Paso Deputy City Manager Sean McGlynn has been chosen for the city manager job in Santa Rosa, California.

McGlynn was unanimously selected after a nationwide search.

McGlynn served as El Paso’s interim city manager in late-May through mid-June this year.

McGlynn has not tendered his resignation to the City of El Paso because negotiations with Santa Rosa continue.

Should McGlynn take the job that would leave City Manager Tommy Gonzalez with only David Almonte as an active deputy city manager.

Former City Manager Joyce Wilson placed Deputy City Manager Jane Shang on administrative leave from late April through the end of this year. Shang will then use her accrued vacation time through April 2015. Shang’s annual salary is $175,000 a month.

Shang was a finalist for the city manager job in Des Moines, Iowa in recent weeks.

Carmen Arrieta-Candelaria, the City of El Paso’s chief financial officer, resigned recently to take a job in the private sector.
