El Paso traffic headaches continue

There are multiple construction projects going on all at once around El Paso.

One that was unexpected began Saturday after a water main break on Yarbrough and Gateway West.

Officials with El Paso Water Utilities said that because of the water main break, the Yarbrough southbound lanes will remain closed until Friday afternoon.

On Interstate 10, it’s been a whole different headache for drivers, ranging from east to west central El Paso.

In east El Paso, TXDOT crews continue to work on the second phase of the Officer Angel David Garcia interchange.

Both Thursday night and Friday night, Loop 375 southbound will be completely closed between the Americas interchange and the North Loop overpass.

In west central El Paso, crews have been working on installing new fences along all the bridges over I-10 from the spaghetti bowl to Thorn Avenue.

Traffic on Thursday in the early morning hours on Thursday was down to one lane between Downtown and Schuster. Similar closures should be expected in the coming days.
