EP Fire Lt. injured in freeway fall has left hospital
El Paso Fire Dept. Lt. Rafael Navarrete has been released from the hospital and is home.
Navarrete was injured June 2, 2014 while working a crash on Loop 375.
Navarrete was responding to a rollover when he fell through an opening in the guardrail barrier on the loop.
The El Paso Fire Department tweeted Tuesday that Navarrete had surgery to his face and is awaiting treatment decisions for his fractured elbow.
He also is nursing two broken ribs.
