Train strikes, kills 2 men in El Paso’s Lower Valley

Two men were killed by a train Saturday morning in the Lower Valley.

El Paso fire dispatch tells ABC 7 the men were hit at a railroad crossing near the intersection ofRoseway and Leonardo.

Initial information given to ABC-7 said the victims may have been walking along the tracks when they were struck, because no vehicle was found on the tracks.

According to a police release, the preliminary investigation revealed that a Union Pacific train was west on the tracks where a 19-year old male and a 20-year old male were seen lying on the railroad tracks.

The train struck both men and as a result they died at the scene, and police are still investigating.
