Trial continues for man accused of fatally beating an El Paso Police officer

Testimony continues today in the trial of Juan “Johnny” Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is accused of fatally beating an El Paso Police officer nearly two years ago.

Today, a friend of Gonzalez’s again took the stand, and testified what he told detectives.

Police say Jonathan Molina was off duty when he confronted a group of teens who keyed his car.

Gonzalez allegedly then attacked Molina.

Molina died after suffering from a fractured skull and brain damage.

Alan Medrano, a friend of Gonzalez’s, was asked by the defense if the questions were confusing and he answered “yes.”

The defense attorney than asked Medrano: “Isn’t it clear that the person who had first physical aggression was officer Molina, right?”

Medrano said, “Yes, sir.”

The defense continued, “Clear as day?

Medrano again answered, “Yes, sir”
