Last Mesa BRIO stop installed

The frame for the final BRIO stop on Mesa Street went up in West El Paso on Aug. 18.

The rapid transit system will run along Mesa from the Downtown station all the way up to the Remcon station.

The extra long articulated buses will have express service with limited stops and priority control to hit traffic signals on a green light.

Service on the Mesa Street line is scheduled to begin in October.

Once completed, the stops will have shade, benches, and even Wi-Fi.

They also will feature public artwork created by Boston artist Catherine Widgery.

Other BRIO lines will be built on Dyer Street, Montana Ave. and Alameda Ave.
