More than 100 arrestedin El Paso in multi-agency operation
Nearly 120 federal and state fugitives have been arrested as part of Operation Thin Blue Line, an operation by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF).
The operation began on July 21, 2014 and resulted in 117 arrests.
The operation included checking on 171 registered sex offenders living in Northeast El Paso.
Of that number, 144 of them were found to be in compliance, 12 were not verified, two were found in jail, and eight were found to be out of compliance with their sex offender registration requirements.
Robert Almonte, the United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated “Today we celebrate the culmination of Operation Thin Blue Line and the outstanding partnership of local, state, and federal law enforcement. The residents of the El Paso area should feel comforted by the tremendous work and commitment shown in this month’s collaborative effort. The Marshals Service is proud to work with these dedicated men and woman and we will continue to track down and arrest fugitives on a daily basis.”
Notable arrests from the operation:
On July 22, 2014, Bryce Doporto and Maritza Mota were arrested on the 4700 block of Sir Gareth in West El Paso.
Both were wanted fortwo counts of kidnapping, two counts of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, one count of robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, possessions of firearms or destructive devices, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
On August 7, 2014, Teddy Dean Davis was arrested on the500 block of N. Oregon in downtown El Paso. Oklahoma authorities were looking for Davis for failure to register as a sex offender and failure to appear on an original charge of lewd molestation and indecent proposal to a child.
On August 12, 2014, Jose Ibanez was arrested in Buffalo, New York by the New York Regional Fugitive Task Force based off of information sent to them by members of the LSFTF. Ibanez was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, family violence, and violation of a protective order.
