Pedestrian struck by vehicle Wednesday in East El Paso has died

The 59-year-old woman struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning has died from her injuries.

El Paso Police say Luz Groescel was crossing Lee Trevino at Edgemere at about 5:46 a.m. Wednesday when a Mustang, traveling north on Lee Trevino was unable to stop before striking Groescel.

Police say Edward Herrera, the driver of the Mustang had a green light and was unable to stop when he saw the pedestrian crossing the road.

There are no charges pending.
