City’s Thanksgiving celebration to continue

The City of El Paso will continue to hold the Thanksgiving Celebration for the homeless and needy.

Former Mayor John Cook and his wife Tram began the Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration in 2005. This year it will be chaired by District 4 City Rep. Carl Robinson.

The community dinner will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center.

Sun Metro will have a Customer Appreciation Day and all bus rides will be free that day to help ensure those in need have a way to get to the convention center.

The City of El Paso wants to thank the El Paso business community and the non-for-profit organizations such as the Salvation Army, the Rescue Mission of El Paso, the Audie Murphy Club and the El Paso Municipal Police Association for their continued support and commitment to help make the celebration a success.

The Salvation Army & the Rescue Mission of El Paso do assist with cooking and providing the meal to all who attend. This year the organizers are preparing for 5,000 people. To ensure that there is plenty of food to offer, the community’s assistance is requested. All donations will go directly to the Salvation Army & the Rescue Mission. The following items are needed.
