Las Cruces Crime Stoppers offers reward related to damage at NMSU
Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the person or persons who broke into several vehicles parked at New Mexico State University and damaged automated teller machines inside Corbett Center.
New Mexico State University Police learned that unknown suspects broke windows to several vehicles parked in Lot 17 North near Corbett Center Student Union during the early-morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 24. Electronics and tools were stolen from the vehicles parked in Lot 17.
After breaking into the vehicles, the suspects apparently used the stolen tools to try to gain access to ATMs inside Corbett Center. They also tried to enter the operations area of the U.S. Postal Service office that’s located inside Corbett Center.
Damage to the ATMs is estimated at several thousand dollars.
