Work begins on outfield structures of El Paso’s Triple-A ballpark

Work is beginning in the outfield of El Paso’s new Downtown Triple-A ballpark, including the outfield wall.

At its furthest point, the outfield wall is 412 feet from home plate. It is 24 feet tall at its highest point in left field.

Concrete work also is underway on buildings which will house the visiting team’s bullpen, the scoreboard, party and group decks, a team store, and ticket booths.

The El Paso Chihuahuas, the Triple-A affiliate for the San Diego Padres, are scheduled to begin playing in the stadium in April 2014.
