Driver in alleged hit-and-run that injured 2 people has been arrested

El Paso Police have charged a man in a Saturday hit-and-run crash that injured two people.

Juan Jose Molina, 29, of the 500 block of Martha Way has been charged with two counts of intoxication assault, two counts of accident involving personal injury, and seven outstanding municipal warrants.

Police say that the two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Hunter and North Loop at about 2:25 a.m. Saturday.

Pilar Garcia, the driver of the other car, suffered serious internal injuries and is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Responding officers, with the assistance of a police canine, found Molina allegedly hiding behind a nearby house.

Molina was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility pm Saturday.
