Hyundai Sun Bowl week begins with team arrivals

On Dec. 31, UCLA and Virginia Tech will be all business as they play in the 80th Hyundai Sun Bowl.

But Thursday they were all smiles as they danced with folklorico dancers and listened to mariachis and El Paso welcomed them to the city.

UCLA arrived in the morning, while some Virginia Tech players arrived early on their own flights. The main contingent of Virginia Tech players and staff were to arrive Thursday afternoon.

Virginia Tech punter AJ Hughes ?arrived early and really seemed to be enjoying himself already.

“King size bed all to myself for the week … Haven’t even been in El Paso for more than 30 minutes and I’m already in love with the #SunBowl #KingSizeBeds #Jacuzzi,” Hughes tweeted.

UCLA coach Jim Mora is looking forward to a good week.

“It’s awesome,” Mora said of the welcome at the airport. “You got a mariachi band… everything’s just very warm and welcoming already.”
