ATF offering reward of up to $5,000 in El Paso church arson

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a reward of up to $5,000 in connection with a church fire last month.

The reward of up to $5,000 is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for starting a fire inside the Faith Assembly of God Church, 11455 Turner Rd. on Nov. 30.

It caused $200,000 in damage.

“There is an attachment to the fact that people want a place to worship and at this point, they’re at a disadvantage,” El Paso Fire Marshal Orlando Arriola said.

Pastor Mike Doyle told ABC-7 the 25 members of his church are forced to celebrate the holidays at a parishioner’s house, because they can’t have services in the building that’s been deemed a total loss.

The ATF El Paso III Field Office and the El Paso Fire Marshal’s Office have been investigating the fire since Nov. 30.

Anyone with information on this fire is encouraged to contact the following:

El Paso Fire Department: (915) 240-3169

ATF Hotline 1-888-ATF-TIPS (888) 283-8477

ATF El Paso III Field Office: (915) 534-6449

All information will be treated confidentially, and callers can remain anonymous upon request.
