Sun Bowl players visit hospitals on Christmas

The Duke and ASU football players didn’t spend their Christmas watching film or preparing for the Hyundai Sun Bowl. Instead, they spent the day putting smiles on the faces of young patients at the Children’s Hospital.

“It’s just a blessing to be able to be here and provide a little bit of inspiration for those less fortunate than we are,” One Duke player said.

The Duke players spent nearly two hours greeting patients, signing posters and even taking pictures with those a little less fortunate.

Duke players told ABC 7 the visit was very special to them.

“You know its just, it means a lot to me, it really does,” Another player said.

“It is great to Just give them a chance to be a part of us and brighten up their day, make them smile, spend a little time with them,” A Duke player mentioned. “It’s awesome, cant get much better than that.”

To top off their trip, the players from both teams will dine at Cattleman’s Steakhouse Thursday night, and take part in the Fan Fiesta Friday at 4 p.m.
