School Board Elections

Under the 2015 School Board Information please put a link to the following address that says:

On February 3, 2015 the three public school districts in Doa Ana County and the Doa Ana Community College will have an election. The three public school districts are electing board members and the community college has mill levy and general obligation bond questions. Voters will be able to vote at any of the locations open on Election Day.

Important dates

Election Day: February 3, 2015

Deadline to Register to Vote: January 6, 2015

The Mailing of Absentee Ballots Begins: January 9, 2015

Early Voting in the County Clerk’s Office during regular office hours: January 9, 2015 – January 30, 2015

GISD will be electing representatives on their board for districts 1, 3 and 4. To vote for a specific candidate you must be registered to vote in his or her district. Clickhere for a map of the GISD districts.

Sample Ballot

DACC is asking people to vote on a mill levy and general obligation bond. Here is the language of the questions:

Community College General Obligation Bond Question: Shall the Advisory Board of the New Mexico State University Doa Ana Community College District, be authorized to issue up to $15,000,000 of general obligation bonds for the purpose of erecting, furnishing, constructing, purchasing, remodeling and equipping buildings and utility facilities, exclusive of stadiums; making other real property improvements; purchasing grounds; and purchasing and installing computer hardware and software; or any combination of these purposes?

Community College Mill Levy Question: Shall the Advisory Board of New Mexico State University Doa Ana Community College District, be authorized to levy an additional $0.25 property tax levy per each $1,000 of net taxable value of property within the District, which taxes are to be used for current operations, maintenance and capital improvements?
