Bonfire explosion injures three

A bonfire in Vinton, Texas exploded seriously injuring three people.

The Sheriff’s office tells ABC-7 it happened at the 8000 block of kiely road. Police found three people had received what appeared to be third degree burns.

Deputies said a family had started a bonfire and some members wanted to make the fire more intense. They tossed a flammable liquid, believed to be paint thinner, into the drum causing an explosion injuring the three people.

People involved in the explosion were 34 year old man, a 26 year old women and a 31 year old women. Medics took all three people to an area hospital.
