Woman and 11-month-old girl in serious condition after hit by alleged drunk driver

A woman and an 11-month-old girl were taken to the hospital with serious injuries late Thursday after the vehicle they were in was struck by an alleged drunk driver.

El Paso Police say that 36-year-old Rick Juljan was driving his Silverado northbound on Railroad when at the same time 22-year-old Alexus Rosas was driving a Forester southbound on Railroad.

Police say Lujan allegedly disregarded a red light and turned left into the path of Rosas’s vehicle. Alexus and 11-month-old Savannah Bitter were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries. Victor Bitter, the other passenger in Rosas’ vehicle, had non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators arrested Lujan and booked him into the El Paso

County Detention Facility on two counts of Intoxication Assault with a total bond of $40,000.
