Family of Miriam Aguirre reacts to Miguel Tinoco verdict

Miriam Aguirre’s sister-in-law told ABC-7 the family has made the decision to not speak on camera about the case until after the verdict is read.

But she said they were confident that the state had enough evidence to charge Tinoco on the murder charges. Aguirre’s family said they were shocked when they heard Tinoco was only going to be charged with 4 counts of aggravated assault.

The case of the grisly hit and run that left a young mother dead two years ago, was decided Friday. An El Paso jury acquitted the young man who hit-and-killed Miriam Aguirre. But Miguel Tinoco was found guilty on four counts of aggravated assault. Tinoco plowed into a crowd of partiers outside of a home in the Lower Valley.
