El Paso City Council changing its seating arrangement again
El Paso City representatives will no longer be seated in numerical order from District 1 through District 8.
That’s not sitting well with District 7 City Rep. Lily Limon.
Limon was asked to move down a seat in order to accommodate a new seating arrangement.
Limon refused and now it’s going to cost the City thousands of dollars to rearrange the City representative platform.
“Historically, we’ve sat in a numeric order. That seat is reserved for district 7 and that’s where I would want to stay,” Limon said.
It will cost nearly $7,000 to rearrange the platform, computers, and mics.
It all started when District 8 City Rep. Cortney Niland said she didn’t want to sit next to Limon.
Niland complained of a hostile work environment and unwanted touching and grabbing.
She traded places with City Rep. Ann Morgan Lilly.
Months later, it was Lilly who asked to be seated on the opposite end of Council from Limon.
Lilly says she could not concentrate on her work because Limon is distracting.
Limon tells ABC-7 the whole situation is childish.
