Steve Aoki’s El Paso show canceled
A show by internationally renowned DJ Steve Aoki had to be canceled early Tuesday morning after the El Paso Fire department deemed the venue unsafe due to a sewage leak.
The show, which was held at Buchanan’s Event Center in east El Paso, was shut down around 12:30 a.m., according to the show’s promoter.
On Aoki’s Twitter page, he then began asking fans for places he could possibly play for free. Club 301 Nightlife offered to let the DJ perform.
Around 2 a.m., Aoki tweeted that police had shut down his impromptu show at Club 301.
The promoter did release a statement, saying “This is out of our control. We understand your discontent and apologize for the inconvenience. We promise to make it up to you.”
Just the night before, Aoki expressed to ABC-7 that when deciding what cities to perform in, he made sure to stop in El Paso because the city is “energetic and fun.”
No word yet if fans can expect a refund.
