Gov. Susana Martinez announces 200 new Las Cruces jobs

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez was in Las Cruces on Thursday to announce 200 new jobs coming to the city.

Although Cincinnati-based company Convergys has been in Las Cruces for seven years, their expansion comes with excitement about the growing job sector.

Martinez was joined by community leaders and those who operate the call center. She said state-wide policy changes are enticing companies to relocate to a city that has a lot to offer, such as Union Pacific Railroad and a port of entry.

The governor said her focus on economic development was a campaign promise she’s determined to keep.

“I promised the people south of Socorro that I would never forget that there are places down here that need the economic drive. They need the education reforms we’re putting in. They need everything northern New Mexico has,” Martinez said.

Convergys is conducting as many interviews as they can daily to fill the positions. People interested can apply online or in person. The company offers full and part-time positions with a full benefits package, including college tuition reimbursement.
