Expect a cooler, windy Halloween
A cold front passing the area brought cooler air to the Borderland Friday, making for a cooler Halloween.
The winds picked up Friday morning, and are forecast to continue in the breezy to windy category all Halloween. Peak wind gusts are forecast to hit western mountain slopes, thank to winds coming from the east.
Wind gusts should peak at 35 mph in El Paso and 30 mph in Las Cruces.
The temperatures will be cooler than Thursday. El Paso should hit a high of only 73 degrees compared to 82 yesterday. Las Cruces is forecast to hit 72 degrees.
It will be windy Halloween evening, which will make temperatures feel cooler than they actually are outside. Bring a jacket trick-or-treating!
Scattered clouds will move into the region Friday, also. Partly cloudy conditions are expected this weekend. Saturday will be warmer and breezy. Sunday will be windy and see a 20 percent chance of late day rain. The chance of rain continues at 20 percent Monday in El Paso. Breezy to windy conditions are forecast to last through Monday.
A big cool down hits next Tuesday, with forecast highs only in the upper 60s and lows in the low 40s.
