First Alert: Dust storm hits city; gusts up to 55 mph expected

First Alert continues for the entire area until 8 p.m. today.

Wind gusts will hit around 55 mph with visibilities down to around one-quarter mile or less in spots due to due the blowing dust and sand.

Cold front blows through the area tonight and will usher in colder air for tomorrow with highs in the mid 60’s and still some wind gusts around 35 mph.

I-10 is now closed from Las Cruces to Lordsburg because of blowing dust and very strong winds.
