One dead following fiery crash near Van Horn
Culberson county sheriff’s officials confirm that one person was killed in a crash Saturday near Van Horn, Texas.
The man has been identified as 35-year-old Justin Taylor from Riverside, California.
Taylor was driving a Ford pickup truck. The sheriff’s office tells ABC-7 that three vehicles were involved in the crash.
The driver of the semi truck was 49-year-old Alexis Perez from Florida. Perez is in critical condition at University Medical Center.
The Culbertson County sheriff’s department says the pickup truck crossed the median, hitting the semi head-on, around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Witnesses at the scene told deputies an explosion happened upon impact, causing the fire.
The crash remains under investigation.
