El Paso man arrested in connection with several arson cases

The El Paso Fire Department has arrested a 52-year-old man in connection with a series of fires in the Downtown/Central areas of El Paso.

Oscar Hernandez was taken into custody on April 15 on an arrest warrant charging him with arson.

Fire Department officials say Hernandez lives in the area where more than 25 different fires have occurred.

Texas Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms assisted in the investigation.
