Community Champions: Henderson Middle School chess team wins national championship
The number one middle school chess team was crowned in Kentucky over the weekend.
And they just happen to be from El Paso.
The Henderson Middle School chess team arrived at the airport late Monday night.
The organization is only two years old and already making history.
This is the first time a team from El Paso has one the national championship.
Because of that feat, ABC-7 has named the team this week’s Community Champions, sponsored by Southwest University.
