Tornillo residents get water service back

A broken well pump in Tornillo was fixed overnight and residents now have water service again.

County Commissioner Vince Perez called the ABC-7 newsroom early Friday morning with the update.

He said the water pump was completely fixed by midnight.

However, Tornillo residents are still urged to boil all water for consumption until further notice.

Perez said crews worked through the night performing a necessary chlorine process and to get the water tanks filled up.

Tornillo residents can still get fresh drinking water from the Red Cross and at the Tornillo I.S.D. Headquarters.

If you need special assistance to get water, call 915-764-2966.
