Free sandbags available at five locations in El Paso

El Paso Water Utilities will begin its seasonal sandbag distribution schedule on Monday, July 6.

Sandbags will be available at five locations, including two new locations on the east and west sides of town.

Sandbag distribution hours also will be extended at the year-round location site, at Fred Wilson Avenue, Stromwater Operations Center.

Sandbags are offered at no cost to customers for emergency flood control use only with a limit of 15 bags per visit.

Customers who live in flood-prone areas are encouraged to obtain sandbags in an effort to proactively prepare for future storm events.

People who cannot lift heavy items are asked to come with someone who can assist with loading and unloading the bags.
