morning, everyone. good morning! we’ll track rain chances just like yesterday, today. the chance of rain begins dry this morning as we are just tracking some cloudy conditions. but the cloudiness will clear to a mix of sun around lunch, and afternoon heating will destabalize our atmosphere! that means chance of rain will pop into the afternoon and early evening. chance moves up to 40-50 percent late day and tonight. as for winds, they’ll develop with tstorms. the temperature will still get warm in the low to mid 90s later today, too. we’ll talk about wit a supercell producing rain- heavy winds and hail wreaked havoc along 1-10 near sierra blanca last night. the thunderstorm caused several accidents and one woman was taken to an el paso hospital abc-7’s jerry najera was at the scene. he brings us the latest from our round the clock news. im near the border patrol check point in sierra blanca and if you look behind me you can see traffic on i-10 heading west is backed up for several miles at around 8:15 a strong supercell with wind gusts hitting between 60 and 80 miles per hour swept through the area and caused these two semi trailers to roll over. officials with the department of public safety say other cars were also involved in the wreck and one woman was taken to a hospital in el paso. about a mile down the highway heading west another trailer laid on its side. stand up: the driver of this trailer tells me it was the high winds that pushed the truck over and he tells me lemon sized hail was hitting the truck. another 2 miles down the dark stretch of i10 this horse trailer. state troopers telling me the strong winds tipped it. the driver of the car pulling the trailer was not injured. i-10 lanes heading east were also shut down but they were opened about an hour later state troopers could not tell me the condition of the woman who was taken to the hospital. reporting from sierra blanca jn-abc-7. a home invasion in an el paso neighborhood … and the suspect is on the loose. this morning- police are still asking for your help. it happened at about 5:30 tuesday morning in west-central el paso on the 16- hundred block of dede lane. that’s near scenic drive. police say an elderly couple went on their morning walk when a man followed them home. the suspect — only described by police as an african- american man — allegedly went through the garage door then demanded money and assaulted the 91-year-old man. if you saw something or have information on the suspect, call police immediately at 832- 44-hundred. the man who broke into a las cruces home and beat an elderly couple with a hammer — is facing up to 52 years in prison. our new mexico mobile newsroom was in the courtroom tuesday. dona ana county prosecutors decided not to go forward with attempted murder charges because the evidence did not support it. it was later that guy young decided to plead guilty to the balance of the charges– without any plea agreement. the 44-year-old attacked charles and patsy greene for money. investigators say young stole the couple’s truck … and then went to a wal-mart to buy clothes with a bloody 100 dollar bill! police arrested him at a truck stop./ our new mexico mobile newsroom is learning more about the las cruces school janitor accused of downloading child porn. school officials said 31-year-old david garcia was a “night-sid custodian” at mesilla par elementary. police arrested garcia last thursday. mesilla park is off west union avenue … between main street and avenida de mesilla. jo galvan, a spokeswoman for the las cruces public schools, says garcia was around children while at work. galvan also says garcia cleared a background check before he was hired. right now — garcia is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation:. an el paso man also facing child porn charges and a sexual assault charge. 25 year old ian christopher bruffey was arrested last week. new police documents obtained by the abc-7 i-team say a 15-year-old girl told investigators she met bruffey on social media. she told detectives bruffey took her to his apartment, where the two allegedly had sex several times. bruffey allegedly recorded two of the encounters, and reportedly threaten to show those images if she didn’t meet his demands. bruffey is also accused of promoting child pornography. police believe there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward. if you have any information call police at 832-4400. with these two unfortunate local incidents in mind,–parents should take the opportunity to talk with their kids about “sextortion.” “he wanted me to take off off m clothes and do things a 13 year old girl doesn’t even know existed” butted “i was basically begging and pleading for this to be over and he kept saying its ok one more thing.” this is samantha chonski, now 21 years old. she was chatting on the social networking site stickam when her nightmare began with a message from a stranger. she had no idea lucas chansler was the man sexually exploiting her…and no idea he had other victims. she only learned later when the fbi came to her home in pennslyvania after arresting chansler in florida and found sexuallly explicit content on his computer. / “he had a list of 26 differen poses, a total of 41 different images each step more sexually graphic which he demanded of his victims to keep him from posting these pics online and for many of his victims he did just that” the fbi is still working to identify chansler’s remianing f-b-i- dot gov. forward slash sextortion. new this morning– one los angeles school district is trying to be proactive about sextortion– this fall students will be getting a new class on their curriculum– it’s known as sext ed- .the school district wants to educate students on the dangers of sharing sexually explicit photos through the internet and texting. the campaign will teach students about violations of child pornography and obscenity laws. the goal is to make students think before they send. the new curriculum will give facts about the dangers and emphasize the importance of consent. now to our complete coverage of the hearing between university medical center and the el paso children’s hospital yesterday. the hearing was in austin and we were able to listen in on the phone. the children’s hospital asserted it is satisfying all court orders including an obligation to provide weekly cash updates to all creditors. the judge also granted a continuance but said he doesn’t like the fact both sides are running up legal bills contesting minor points. by the next hearing on july 30th — he wants them to have as many things as possible negotiated, and to not be wasting resources on details. with two large tuberculosis exposure investigations going on in el paso — abc-7 wanted to know if el paso jails are on high alert — since one of those investigations involves a halfway house. local detention centers say they aren’t any more concerned about t-b than normal … despite the investigation at a federal halfway house. and the el paso jail tests all incoming inmates, and all employees annually. residents and staff at dismas charities — a federal halfway house — are expecting their results next week. the el paso department of health is sending forced to downsize– the army will soon announce where it will make its cuts. officials say it includes the reduction of 40- thousand troops by 2017. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live with the details…denise? that announcement is expected to come down this week— fort bliss is just one of many army posts waiting to out if it’ll be affected. the obama administration has responded to budget constraints by pledging to scale the army back to its lowest troop level since before world war two. the army announced in 20-13 that it planned to cut about 80- thousand troops– it’s unclear if that number has changed since. fort bliss officials have told abc-7 in the past they are confident that fort bliss will survive the cuts. they’ve said fort bliss is an important asset to the army because of it’s ability to receive units from different parts of the country, train them and also deploy them to different operations. civilian employees are not in the clear– i’ll tell you how many
