championship are set to fall in just a few days. and one el pasoan, among many, was in the middle of it all for nearly the entire journey. abc 7’s luke lyddon has his story. nats: pins falling the usbc open championship brings bowlers together from all over the world. “we’ve met bowlers from the bahamas, hawaii from new york all the way to california and in between. and each one of them has their own story.” bennie grayson has been bowling almost his entire life. nats: pins falling but this time he is looking at the lanes from a different point of view. as a lane monitor. “w are here for the bowler. we correct scores, if anything happens. we watch them, because sometimes they don’t actually see what happens, so we have to be their eyes also.” nats: pins falling and grayson has seen it all– right from behind his podum. “you see all sorts o bolwers. very good bowlers and not so good bowlers. but they are all out here trying to do something and coming up with positive perspective, and thats what i have learned the most from here.” even bowlers that were stepping up to the lanes one last time. “he says because i have bee diagnosed with colon cancer. his wife had passed a couple years before that. this tournament reminded him of her and they always bowled the tournament for 30 plus years and that story really stuck with me because i lost my dad to cancer.” from watching over the lanes to creating friendships from all over the country– its an experience that is truly one of a kind. “i will never forget it as long as i live.” luk lyddon, abc 7. the usbc championshp ends this saturday… how bout
