Golf Tournament Earns $306,000 for Charity

today we continued the 22nd edition of the burger time golf tournament… since the tournament was established, there’s a direct coralation from when they started to when las cruces athletics rose to power… and that, folks, is rick cabrera… doing his thing this morning … he shot a 150 over par… that might not be factual but i’m saying 150 anyway… the tournament is for a great cause… over 300 thousand dollars raised to support athletics and extra cirricular activities at mayfield, las cruces, onata and centennial high schools… “it just amazes me every year what this community does. through lean times like we had through the recession and everything like that, they’ve always pulled together. i tell you what, it’s a huge advantage for the four schools, especially the football programs.” the burger time golf tournament has now raised 1.8 million dollars in its 22 year history… alan culpepper
