Horizon Police looking for suspect in sexual assault of woman

Horizon City Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman while she was walking Monday night.

At about 9 p.m., a woman was walking in the area of the 3500 block of Alderwood Manor in Horizon City when she was physically attacked by an unknown man wearing dark clothing.

The area is near the intersection of Ashford and Alderwood Manor.

The man grabbed the victim from behind, pulled her hair and tried to force her to the ground.

The man placed a knife to the woman’s throat and threatened to kill her if she screamed.

The woman sustained several lacerations during the altercation but was able to fight the man off and run away.

The attacker pursued the woman a short distance before giving up and fleeing the scene.

Suspect’s description:

Light skin
Medium build
5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall.

The victim was able to bite the man’s arm, causing an injury that may have required medical treatment.

Police searched the area for the man but could not find him.
