Fabens student killed in rollover near Sonora

A Fabens High School student was killed early Monday morning on I-10 west, about eight miles east of Sonora.

Aaron Levi Bidwell, 18, was killed when the vehicle he was driving veered off the highway for an unknown reason shortly after 4 a.m.

Texas Department of Public Services officials say he overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to skid sideways into the center median.

The vehicle rolled over several times, crossing the eastbound roadway and struck a rockwall on the south side of I-10.

Elijah Cain Bidwell, 32, also of Fabens, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken to Lillian M. Hudspeth Memorial Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Both were wearing seatbelts.
